Inspired by a long trip to Latin America, and full of strong impressions from the amazing culture and craftsmanship that she founded there, the 22 years old young designer Emma Francois decides to leave her master’s degree in economic anthropology and engages herself, headlong, in the world of fashion. The first collection of her label, Sessùn, came in 1995 and was only limited to a small number of accessories, made of natural materials, with South American mountains design inspiration.
After winning the award for young designer of the year of the Mediterranean Fashion Institute, Emma chooses to move her workshop in Marseilles where she works raw materials giving rise to unique collections, impregnated with a sophisticated yet very feminine urban style. With a strong influence from music, art and photography, she staged her clothes toward her feelings and collaborates with many artists, music festivals, dance or graphic designers.
Sessùn fashion is contemporary and timeless, with fine mastered styles. Sessùn designs a style with a very French touch. Sessùn is a world apart, cutting across disciplines, intimate, almost a way of life.
